Successful Grading Night, 11th December
We had a fantastic grading night at Westland Judo Club on 11th December, with some excellent results across both our senior and junior members.
We’re delighted to congratulate two of our senior judoka who successfully progressed to 6th Kyu (Red Belt). This marks the official start of their judo grading journey and is a significant milestone. Beginning the grading process as an adult can sometimes feel daunting, but their success is a great reminder that judo grading is about learning, understanding, commitment, and persistence — not just raw fighting ability. A well-deserved achievement and a brilliant example to others thinking about starting or returning to judo later in life.
Our junior members also had a very positive evening, with four juniors progressing through their Mon grades, including one judoka earning a well-deserved Red Belt. It was great to see the confidence, enthusiasm, and improvement on display, and the smiles at the end of the evening said it all.
Grading nights like this are an important part of club life, celebrating progress at every level and reinforcing that judo is a sport where everyone can develop at their own pace.
